Believe It or Not!
I am a nice guy and I just received a Thank You note to remind me. Here is the rest of the story.
A couple of weeks ago on my way to play (remember I said play) golf I came across a couple of mature ladies on the golf cart path. I don't know how mature they were but they looked like they were in their late 70s or 80s. I asked them if they were all right and they said they didn't think so. Their cart was dead. I told them I had a cell phone, but they didn't have anyone to call. They said a guy stopped and told them to put the cart in tow and then in run and that might get them home. (He must have had something more important to do than to help these two ladies.) That would not get them anywhere and they knew that since they were at a dead stop. They told me if I got them to a church about a mile away they could walk home from there.
I have a tow rope, so I hooked them up and took them to the church. When we reached the church I asked them if they were all right and where they lived. When they told me the Village they lived in, I said that would be a long walk and I could not leave them there.
Being nice ladies, they told me they didn't want to put me out since I was on my way to play golf. I told them golf was only a game and my Mother and Father did not raise me to leave them on the side of the rode so I could make a tee time. If I was late, so be it. I told them I would tow them home, which would be about a mile and a half farther than the golf course. So while I towed them to their home, I called one of the guys I was golfing with and told him to play without me until I could catch up. We play for money, so I told him I would lose the first couple of holes and drink more beer after we were done to make up for it. As it turned out I got the ladies home and still got to the course just in time to make the first hole.
I had forgotten about all this until today when I received a thank you note from one of the ladies. I thought it was very thoughtful of them. Life is very good.
