Bob's Story

I'm just an old steel worker from Ohio that played with telephones for 30 years and decided to live a stress free life and to be a nice guy to all regardless of how many jerks I meet.

Thursday

Today was a golf day.  I didn't play very well.  I shot 39 on the front, but dropped to a 44 on the back.  It was hot, but the beer was cold afterward.

Yesterday, I played softball.  We won.  I was 4 for 4, but I made an error in the outfield.  Since it's slow pitch, I expect to hit the ball, so even though I'm at the highest batting average on the team, I am more upset about the error.  I know I'm old, but that doesn't mean I expect to make an error two.  I would rather make an out at the plate than make an error.  Anyway the beer was cold afterward.

Golf Week - On the Course

These are most of the guys that started and supported Gold Week for the last several years.  Unfortunately, Uncle Ed and Bobby are watching from a different place, but I'm sure they still approve of the family caring on the tradition.

This is the oldest member of our group (and most groups).  My dad is 99 years old and played three times this year.  He was worn out by the end of the week, but we all enjoyed his participation and his team appreciated his contributions.  He can play anytime he wants with anyone he wants.

Mon and Dad sitting by the campfire enjoying the family.

My two grandsons and son-in-law.  I've heard all the short jokes, so you don't have to repeat them.  I bought 18 balls for the grandkids to use.  They lost all but 3.  We had a great time and I'm looking forward to it some other time.

2 Man Tournament

I played in a 2 man best ball tournament today. I and my partner hit the ball well, but we finished out of the money because I could not putt.  I missed 6 putts inside of six feet.  Once I three putted inside of six feet. We shot a 75, 71 won, 73 was n the money.  I don't expect to hit every putt inside of 6 foot, but I do expect to make 4 or 6 and never three putt.

Anyway we had a great time and drank a beer or two to drown my putting sorrows.

We were in Ohio last week, but we've been too busy to add some photos and comment on the blog.  I'll try to add something this weekend.
