Bob's Story

I'm just an old steel worker from Ohio that played with telephones for 30 years and decided to live a stress free life and to be a nice guy to all regardless of how many jerks I meet.

Released!

The doc and I had somewhat of an understanding today.  After examining my knee, prior to any discussion, his main points were:
  1. I don't have to wear my brace.
  2. I can drive a car or cart.
  3. I can go back to work at the golf course.
  4. No softball for one year.
  5. No golf for another month.
We are 100% in sync on four out of five.  We had a discussion about #5.  He was pretty clear on the dangers of walking on uneven terrain, so he thought golf would not be a good idea for another month.  On the other hand I think I can golf level courses if I put the brace back on.  Maybe not as well as I did prior to messing up my quad muscles and tendons, but good enough to play.  I didn't exactly tell me about this compromise, but I'm sure he would agree with me if I brought it up.

My next steps are to strengthen my leg.  Exercises he suggested include:
  1. Stationary biking
  2. Walking
  3. Kicking and walking in a pool
  4. Leg lifts
This I agree 100% with and will continue to work on my physical therapy until I'm as good as new.  I hope your day has been as great as mine.
